I researched several scales and am very happy with this one. The app takes a little getting used to when reviewing results/data but overall very happy with how this is functioning after the first few weeks.

Tool for measuring change.
This device is fairly accurate. I have scheduled a DEXA scan for an actual comparison. I’m still somewhat confused as to the difference between the “Athletic Mode” and regular settings, as there is a drastic difference in some metrics depending on this setting in the app. The visceral fat measurement is also very ambiguous, as it shows a scale of 0-20. No actual unit of measurement. I don’t know what 11 means in relation to the visceral fat measurement.

This scale is really well made for the money. The scale definitely has a better build quality than any bathroom scale that I’ve seen. As for accuracy, I tested this with 2 other bathroom scales and a postage scale. All the scales were within 0.1 lb of each other. The feet (where the sensors are) have a much larger footprint than many other bathroom scales. This increases the stability of the scale, especially if you have a tile bathroom with grout in between tiles. Larger feet are able to cross the tile gaps and lay flat instead of falling between the gap.The scale isn’t the most slim, but it doesn’t really matter as once you find a spot for it, you really aren’t moving it anywhere. The thicker scale allows for a bigger battery. The battery life of my particular unit is phenomenal. It has been 24 days of daily use so far, and the battery gauge barely went down. I have not had to charge it since getting it. I have both bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on and use the scale daily for at least 1 measurement, sometimes two measurements.The scale has a lot of functions if you pair it with the app. I tested it without the app as well, and it still functions as a normal scale. With the app, you get more metrics such as BMI and body fat %. The BMI is most likely calculated using the height you input. The body fat % is measured using Bio-Impedance, which is not the most accurate way to measure body fat. It will not give you the accuracy of a DEXA scan. However, for daily use and tracking of changes, I found that the body fat % at least gives consistent results. This is at least useful for tracking changes, even if the true body fat % is off by a bit.

Another home run!
Renpho has hit another home run with another great scale and product! I started using Renpho products about a year ago, starting with a different scale, and have now acquired around 6 different health related products of theirs. This new Renpho scale is phenomenal! I already loved their most popular twenty-dollar scale, but this one takes the cake. This scale for one is gorgeous, you open it up and don’t even want to step on the thing, the quality and design are just flawless. The scale came fully charged (no more batteries, yay!) and ready to hook up. To turn it on, just follow the instructions and hold down the reset button. I had to do the 10 second reset because the weight was not zeroed out, but that fixed it instantly. The scale connects to the app flawlessly; I was able to add it right in with my other Renpho products that use the app. The digital screen on the scale is the coolest thing ever. After it’s taken your weight, it actually shows you several different windows, like your BMI, fat percentage and weight per scale percentage. It shows you right there on the scale if you’re falling within a healthy range. The scale even showed my personal profile name from the Renpho app, so if you have multiple users, you’ll be able to see if it’s recording the correct person when you step on the scale. When you open the app, you have access to all your numbers in more detail, which I have greatly come to love using their older version scale. The app is not just for reading your scale either, it has a great community of other Renpho users that I’ve personally enjoyed participating in. It’s like a social media app to cheer others on in their health journeys. This scale is fabulous, and I’m so stoked to get a lot of use out of it. Easy, easy 5/5 stars from me, I’d rate it higher if I could!
