Love this muscle rub for nighttime relief!
I absolutely love the Phytewell PM Muscle Rub! It’s become part of my nightly routine because it really helps ease my aches and pains after a long day. Mild relief at best and a scent that lingers longer than the effect
I had high hopes for this rub, especially for my persistent shoulder muscle pain from working at a desk all day. Unfortunately, after consistent use on various areas but mostly on my shoulder I haven’t noticed much in terms of lasting relief. At best, it provided a mild, temporary easing of tension, but nothing close to what I was hoping for.The texture is light and absorbs reasonably well, though it does leave a slight residue for a while. What stood out most to me, however, was the scent. It’s a strong mix of menthol and lavender, and while I know scent preferences are personal, I found it unpleasant and distracting. Even after multiple hand washes, I could still smell it hours later. If you’re sensitive to strong herbal aromas, this may not be the product for you.It may work better for those with mild aches or a preference for subtle, non-heating topical treatments, but for more stubborn muscle pain, this didn’t make much of a difference. I appreciate the fine quality, natural ingredients and fast absorption, but I won’t be reaching for it regularly.

Very well designed all-botanical pain reliever balm
I’m always happy to support companies whose products are made in America so I was looking forward to trying this balm for pain relief by Phytewell based out of Idaho.This is a topical that targets muscle and joint pain. It is strictly a natural product that uses a blend of botanicals to deliver pain relief. There are two formulations based generally on your body’s activity level during the day – an AM formulation for daytime and a PM formulation for bedtime, each having its own unique blend of botanicals. My review is based on the PM formulation which is called Nightly Restore.Upon opening, the scent is much like that of Mentholatum but with a much lighter tone. The texture is like that of a beeswax and reminds me of a cocoa butter stick. The balm goes on smooth and leaves a slight oily/waxy residue on the skin. As you continue rubbing, the residue fades as your skin absorbs more of the product. I could still feel the effects of the balm on my skin about four hours after first application.This appears to be a well designed natural pain reliever. Personally, I feel it’s important to have products like these as an alternative to all of the chemical-laden stuff on the market. I read a little about the company Phytewell and they have a lot of science invested into these formulations. It might be a little pricy, but I believe it reflects the amount of work and effort they put into making these products effective.

Too early to tell if it works
I’m dealing with some knee pains and joints popping. I tried this muscle and joint rub to see if it would help restore some movement and reduce some of the aches, but it has only been a few days and I don’t expect something like this to be an overnight fix.The product is waxy like paste, balm like. Application is easy, texture is not too oily afterwards. However, the oiliness does transfer from your skin to other stuff like your bed sheets or couch or anything you come in contact with. So don’t rub too much as that will just resort to more of it rubbing off. Or wear clothing to cover the areas you apply it to so it doesn’t come off onto furniture or bedding you don’t want getting greasy looking.

Great natural pain reliever
This muscle rub has an ointment sort of texture that is a bit greasy. It is not creamy like lotion. I personally like this texture. It goes on easily. It provides a nice soothing sensation without feeling to icy or spicy. It does have a fairly strong medicinal smell but it is intended for night relief so not when I am heading out or something. Even being medicinal though, I find the scent to be pleasant. It does offer some good pain relief and feels good. Definitely better than a lot of other options out there.
