Dual Layer Foam Design:Tanyoo’s back support pillow for recliner combines dual-layer foam technology with ergonomic design to deliver exceptional comfort and lasting support. The top layer features shredded memory foam that conforms to your body’s contours while maintaining plush softness. Below this comfort layer is a high-resilience foam base that provides medium support, ensuring optimal spinal alignment. This orthopedic-grade cushion is specifically designed for recliner enthusiasts seeking cloud-like softness.
Ergonomic Orthopedic Design:The lumbar support pillow for the recliner is specifically designed to conform to the natural curvature of your back, offering added spinal support. This back pillow effectively alleviates back pain, enhances sitting posture, and promotes a gentle curvature in the spine.
Ideal Size for Recliners: This Lumbar pillow is measured in 19x16x5.5 inches. The widen and heighten size is perfect fit for your recliners, armchairs and couches. This larger size is ideal for elderly who spend extended periods of time sitting on recliners.

Packing Instruction: The back support cushion is delivered in a compressed state, but it can be set up effortlessly by following these four simple steps: open the package, unfurl the pillow, remove the plastic packaging, and then allow 24-48 hours for it to expand fully.

    Comfortable
Comfortable! Just the right amount of support, and the color is great as it matches my couchThe size is great as it fits my recliner, and the material is soft but doesn’t collect dust and lint! Great for stubborn back pain

Comfortable and useful – more than just a recliner pillow
So far, this pillow has been very useful. Although sold as a wedge pillow for recliners, I have also found this pillow helpful as a prop in bed for both my back and my legs, and as a back support while working on my computer. I acquired the brown version, and it blends well with my brown leather recliner sofa. Please note that in the pictures, they show it as almost a grey color, but it really is a dark brown fabric. Construction wise, the back is a single piece of wedge-shaped foam, and the front is shredded foam that gives more flexibility. You can access the pillow interior through a zipper, which allows you to remove the wedge-shaped piece, but leaves the shredded foam encased in the front of the pillow in an enclosed section. (see photo). I think this is helpful when it comes to washing the pillow, as the larger piece of foam backing can stay intact. Also, because the foam wedge has a rounded front and a flat back to it, you can reverse the foam backing to adjust the shape of the pillow to best fit your back and recliner shape. The fabric is a corduroy-type woven fabric (without the ridges), that is soft and although not thick, seems durable and comfortable against skin and through clothing. Overall, this is proving to be a useful addition to our home, and I also plan to take this on longer car trips to provide comfort and support while on the road.

Works like a charm for my elderly father’s armchair, but can we wash memory foam pieces?
This is my second pillow from Tanyoo. I’m using it for my elderly father’s armchair – he’s short so he can’t reach the back of the chair without leaning.  His PT said this unnatural position was causing neck & back problems.  So I grabbed this.  Like my other Tanyoo pillow, the stitching is tight, with a metal zipper, not plastic, and the material doesn’t feel thin, even if it oddly feels a little slick for cotton.  In terms of compression, I’d call it medium to soft.  The top layer with broken up memory foam is actually a separate compartment, almost like a little pillow top (the product page pictures make it look like the pieces are with the main foam but it’s actually a built-in part of the cover – see my photo).  That makes sense since you don’t want memory foam pieces falling out, but I guess it means the foam would be washed when you wash the cover? I wonder if you can put it in the dryer?  Anyway, as you’d expect from shredded foam, the “pillow top” is bumpy feeling.  It’s soft bumps so it doesn’t upset your back but you can definitely tell it’s pieces of foam.  This doesn’t bother my dad though.  He’s finding it very helpful.  Interestingly, he turned it around, so the thicker half is on top.  He’s got pillows on the bottom of the chair, so he’s tucked the thinner end of this one behind those pillows.  Thus, he’s got the thick part of this for his back, taking up the missing space and keeping him from leaning back.  He said it’s perfect. My four stars is because I don’t understand why they fail to mention the memory foam shreds are part of the cover nor provide us with washing instructions.  This makes a difference because if the memory foam doesn’t wash well, all you’ll be left with is a foam wedge.

    Pillow-Soft Lumbar Support
I’ve been pretty much confined to my recliner for the last three months with sciatica pain. Before ordering this cushion, I was using pillows behind my back. They worked but would inevitably roll and bunch up. I did try some other wedge cushions, but they all were too firm and caused more pain rather than helped. This TANYOO wedge cushion is pillow-soft yet provides great lumbar support. It’s the perfect thickness and width to support my lower back; however, it could be an inch or two higher to provide more support for the upper back. I’m 5’7″ and this pillow stops at about two inches below my armpits. The pillow shows up in a compressed bag. I let it sit for a day to fluff up before using it. There was no odor and the fabric is soft to the touch. It fits in my recliner and is definitely easier to use and more comfortable than a pillow. It’s a quality product that is designed well and functions as advertised. The cover is super easy to remove as the zipper spans from one side, around the bottom and ends on the other side of the cushion. My only concern is there seems to be shredded foam in the front of the removable cover, so not sure how well that will hold up in the washing machine.Bottom line, if you are looking for pillow-soft lumbar support, I highly recommend this cushion. In my opinion, at the current price of $26, it’s an excellent value for the money.

Couch & Recliner Lumbar Pillow that Actually Helps
I’ve been using this TANYOO lumbar pillow on our reclining couch, and it does what I needed: it helps my lower back keep a natural curve and it makes my chronic back pain noticeably less. The dual-layer design works—shredded memory foam on top feels plush, while the firmer base keeps you from sinking too far. At 19 x 16 x 5.5 inches, it spans the chair nicely without fighting the recline. It’s light and easy to move room to room, and the dark color blends in with our sofa. The removable cover unzips for washing, which is great for something that sees daily use. Mine arrived vacuum-packed; after opening the plastic and unfurling it, I let it expand for a full day before judging firmness. A quick fluff and knead helped distribute the shredded foam evenly.Comfort-wise, it’s medium support: soft at first touch with a stable feel once seated. It encourages better posture without being a brick. If you share the chair with someone of very different height, you may need to re-position it between uses, but that’s true of most strapless lumbar cushions. For me, it hits the small of the back just right.

It’s very comfortable once you get it exactly in the right place. My chair is a little shorter from front to back so I have to push against it to make it feel good. Once I’m there, I really like it.

PRODUCT: TANYOO Back Support Pillow for Recliner Soft Dual Layer Lumbar Support Pillow with Shredded Memory Foam Ergonomic Orthopedic Couch Lumbar Cushions for Elderly Lower Back Pain Relief Dark GreyPRICE: $38.99 CAD at time of purchaseI’m not “elderly” per say, and I don’t have a recliner (yet LOL) but I have had a bad back since I was a teenager. It’s actually my hip that is the issue, but it pulls across my lower lumbar and has caused a great deal of pain over the years, including having a herniated disk at L4 in my 20s. I say all that so you know I really do understand lower back pain, CHRONIC lower back pain. What a perfect pillow for your lower back. I sit on a couch with not great support, and I use memory foam pillows under me to hold me stable a bit better… and then I slipped this pillow behind my back and it was a real relief. I swear I heard my back sigh in relief. I haven’t used the pillow too long, so I can’t attest to how well it holds up over time. But I can say the following:- the cushion cover is well made, good seams, no pulls or strings anywhere- the cover can be zipped off to wash, awesome (it does collect dog hair but mainly because every time I get up he steals it)- the zipper is small but seems to have a LOT of teeth, and is sewn in well- the “memory foam shreds” are super soft and supportive, and are encased inside the front panel of the cover (so they’re not floating all over the place)- then there’s a large ‘wedge’ of foam behind thatThere are NO pressure points when you lean back. It honestly is really soft yet supportive, and in all the right spots. I can’t think of a single bad thing or disappointing thing. I had to give it five stars. If at some point in the future I feel differently, I’ll definitely come back and update my review.

  9. Devyani Aswal

This back support pillow is a soft one it’s not as hard as a regular lumbar support. I like the fact that it comes in darker color options because equipment like such which is used on a daily basis starts to show somewhere and that’s not great on lighter colors. Also if you oil your hair you might want to get the darker one.Talking about the packaging, it was vacuum sealed and rolled into a cylinder shape and instantly gained it’s shaped back as soon as the packaging was opened. So far been 3 hours of continuous usage and it has been working fine for me. I work a desk job for longer hours and a back support was really needed.I will be using it regularly and will update my review in another couple weeks to confirm whether or not it supports reduction in back pain.

  10. lirelivres

This is a large back support pillow that provides medium support. It has a wedge shape, and made all the difference in comfort and support while sitting & reading in the old recliner. This arrived vacuum sealed and rolled like a neck pillow, but once the packaging was slit it soon grew into a wedge pillow. They recommend letting the pillow expand 24-48 hours. The cushion has a 2 layers of foam, the back layer is one large foam piece, and the top layer has shredded memory foam. The cover has a zipper and can be washed.Well made, medium support, soft and comfortable!

  11. Product Reviews

This isn’t a firm pillow if that’s what you are looking for. It stays in place and is a decent size so it will work well in a bigger recliner. Works well and is comfy and soft. Recommended.
