Garmin Makes Great Watches
I purchased this Garmin vivoactive 5 to replace my fitbit. I was just getting bored of it and honestly the screen on the FB was so small. I love the round bigger face on this one. The colors on the amoled display make it really stand out. You can also log in walks, stairmaster, eliptical, kickboxing, HIIT, and many more. It shows how much sleep you got the night before. I bought it because it’s easy to read and use and it’s pretty.

Works great, battery life is about 10 days, great features!

Beautiful and Accurate
I’ve tried several other brands including Fitbit and the recent Samsung Galaxy, and this is far superior. Durable crystal (unlike the wretched Samsung), superb body tracking, attractive graphics, actually waterproof, it puts the friendly in ‘user friendly.’ Although last year’s version Vívoactive, it does everything I need at a bargain price.

Great but wish it was a little better
Don’t like how it doesn’t mirror my phone. Spotify on phone won’t work on watch. You have to connect headphones to the watch and have Spotify premium. The health features are great but didn’t like you need two different apps to fully use the watch including a specific app store. Did well in water and the screen is bright enough to use in the sun.

Happy to switch from Galaxy watch
Works great and has much better battery life than a lot of the competitors. My battery will last about 5 days with use not using battery saving mode. Only thing I wish it had was a altimeter to track elevation on runs which a different model has.

Allergy or something
Battery life is great, it looks nice, it tracks all the stuff.I had to return mine because after about a month I started to notice every time I wore it I would get leathery, itchy, red rings around my wrist. The skin would peel too. Luckily there is a long return window, and hopefully someone else will have better luck than me with this.I also would get these “stressful moments” warnings at the weirdest times. If I was anxious and stressed about driving, or at work, or taking a test: nothing. Having a good time with friends: high stress. That feature could use a lot of work.

Best watch ever
I absolutely love this watch. Had an older version of it that slowly began to fail. This new one is very user friendly like the last one, love that I was able to choose the color of it and loved it even more when I got to see the shade of blue in person.

Zegarek w cenie o 25% niższej niż wersja nowa, a jedyna różnica to brak oryginalnego opakowania.

Right, let’s cut to the chase: this watch is brilliant, especially for the money. I grabbed a ‘refurbished – excellent’ one at £180, it was basically brand new. After checking out the competition like Huawei, Samsung, and Fitbit, it’s clear Garmin is the king if you actually care about health and fitness tracking (Apple? Nice fashion accessory, but locked in ios and not really the focus). Garmin just gets it right, and crucially, all the core health data and app features are free, unlike Fitbit trying to push subscriptions. Yes, Garmin does offer some optional subscription stuff for advanced “AI” tracking in the app, but you absolutely don’t need it for the good stuff. The Vivoactive 5 hits that perfect sweet spot. You’re getting amazing tech without having to pay for other fluffs. I’ve had mine for over a month now, using it for general health tracking and my usual workouts, nothing hardcore, just keeping an eye on things. It’s spot on for that. While I don’t really care much for the “smart” side of watches, getting phone notifications popping up on the wrist is definitely handy. Features like Garmin Pay for contactless payments and onboard music storage (so you can leave your phone behind on runs) are included too, which are nice bonuses even if they aren’t my main focus. There’s loads I could talk about, but to keep it punchy, here’s a quick pros and cons rundown:PROS:Loads of data (mostly free!): The amount of detailed stats on the watch is fantastic, and highly customisable. The Garmin Connect app gives even more insight, all without a mandatory subscription. That screen: The AMOLED display is gorgeous. Bright, colourful, and easy to read outdoors, quite durable from scratches too.Top-tier health tracking (for the price): Genuinely amazing value. No wrist tracker is 100% perfect, but this gives a really solid idea of your body’s status. Heart rate seems reliable, GPS is solid, and extras like Body Battery, stress tracking, and incredibly accurate automatic sleep/nap detection are brilliant (seriously how does it know exactly when I fall asleep/nap?!)Incredible value vs Venu 3: Honestly, for the £180 I paid refurbished, you’re getting maybe 90% of what the much pricier Venu 3 offers. Refurbished Venu 3s are still around £300, so the saving is significant for very similar core features.Insane battery life & decent charging: Easily getting 10-13 days between charges with sensors on and workouts included. Charging is okay, roughly 2 mins per 1%.Comfortable & looks good: Lightweight, doesn’t scream “SPORTS WATCH,” and comfy enough for 24/7 wear.Works with everything: Plays nice with both Android and iOS.Easy to clean: Being waterproof (you can swim and shower with it) makes keeping the watch body itself clean simple.CONS:No floor counting: Missing the altimeter means no floors climbed metric, which feels like an odd gap. GPS handles elevation in workouts, which isn’t as accurate.Workout tracking quirks: While there are tons of activity profiles, there are no workout animations like on the pricier Venu models. So if you want to try a new exercise shown on a plan, you’ll need to look it up elsewhere. Also can’t spontaneously track simple sets like push-ups easily. Some activity tracking (like boxing) feels more like guesswork based on heart rate.Step counting can be gamed: Seems overly sensitive to arm shakes, letting you rack up steps without actually walking, which is obviously not ideal for your data.Dust magnet strap: While the watch itself is easy to clean, the standard silicone strap attracts dust like crazy, and it tends to stick there which is annoying.Hit-or-miss alerts: The ‘Move!’ alerts can be illogical sometimes, like it can prompt me to move 20 mins after I did an 30 mins workout. No speaker/mic: Can’t take calls on the wrist or use voice assistants.Overall:Honestly, finding major faults at this price point, especially the £180 I paid, is tough. For general fitness, fantastic health monitoring (especially sleep!), and solid smartwatch basics, the Vivoactive 5 absolutely nails it. If you don’t need the absolute pinnacle of athlete features, floor counting, workout animations, or talking into your wrist, you’re getting incredible value here, a huge chunk of the premium Venu 3 experience for way less dosh. Highly recommended. Just remember, always take the data from any watch like this as a helpful guide, not gospel. It gives you great insights, but ultimately, only you truly know how your body feels (no Garmin, I do not have “enough battery for workout today”, I’m still sore from yesterday!).
