Great Quality, Worth the Money if you have an iPhone
I was skeptical, but it’s worth the money, especially if you have an iPhone. It’s syncs right to your health app and then will transfer to other apps, such as my fitness pal, etc. Definitely recommend! The color screen is nice and it was so easy to set up. It is a little heavy, but that’s because of the good quality.

Reliable
Been couple of years now. Item is great. No issues.I don’t trust the body composition and I think it’s a complete gimmick, but everything else is good.

Quality and bug
The battery life is very good so far from what I’ve seen and I’ve had the item for a few months. It does get dirty quickly but overall it does glitch here and there that it cannot get my heart rating. Not a usual big issue for me but could be for some.

Withings avoids customer contact and warranty replacement for defective products
I can’t recall ever writing a one-star negative review on Amazon, but unfortunately, Withings has policies in place that are so egregious and so far below what is normal among health products firms for customer support that I think that this info deserves to be shared.I purchased a Withings Body Smart Scale in June 2023 that came with a two year warranty. A few weeks ago (January 2024) the scale’s weight accuracy became erratic and its body scanning also became erratic. (Please see the attached image of the 2.3 lb variance in six simultaneous weighings for the same person). After going through Withings’ trouble shooting and not solving these issues, I attempted to reach out to the company with a warranty claim. That was easier said than done.Withings does not publish ANY contact information on its website. No telephone number, no email address, no physical address, no “contact us” form.Clicking on the “Contact Us” button loops back to a FAQ list. One needs to wade through and decipher a bunch of URLs to actually find a means to contact Withings customer support. [Pro tip: the Better Business Bureau lists Withings’ telephone number and provides a “Contact this business” email form.]It isn’t easy to find, but Withings does offer an appointment calendar for customers who need to speak to a customer service or tech support person. I sought an appointment on their calendar. Withings scheduled it THREE MONTHS OUT for a simple warranty claim. So in order to file a warranty claim Withings wanted to make me wait three months???[3/8/24 update: My call with Withings Tech Support was scheduled for today. After waiting almost three months, Withings did not show up for the call. I sent an email to the Withings person who was scheduled for the call, who did not respond to my email.]Withings’ “Chat” function on their website is not staffed during at least some of the hours that it claims to be open. I waited for 7 hours during one day a few weeks ago and my chat request was never responded to.In looking through the Withings Forums and at Withings’ BBB complaints, I found that for at least the past two years, customers with tech support questions or warranty claims had found it near impossible to get in touch with Withings support staff. Clearly my experience wasn’t an anomaly—Withings apparently had been treating all of its customers just as poorly. After a few days in attempting to reach Withings, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau based on Withings’ policy of making it difficult, if not impossible, for their customers to file valid warranty claims. [Note: the BBB give Withings a “D-” rating.]The day after I filed the BBB complaint, Withings got in touch. They sent me an email asking for details on the warranty claim. I provided the details they requested. Withings ignored the data I provided that evidenced that the scale was not performing to spec, told me that the scale was performing properly and that it did not need to be replaced.I asked Withings multiple times via email to address the evidence I provided that proved that the scale was defective. At no point in weeks of email exchanges did Withings ever actually address the problems I was having with the scale, and always continued to claim that the scale was performing correctly, even though simultaneous weighings for the same person a few minutes apart varied by more than two lbs, while the scale is supposed to be accurate to +/- .1 lb, the scanning function only functions intermittently, and the scale is only six months into a two year warranty. The bottom line: there is overwhelming evidence that Withings has policies in place to limit customer interaction and to prevent customers from being able to make valid warranty claims on defective Withings products.I have been a Withings user for a number of years and this was my fourth Withings scale.Withings used to have normal service and support, but that has now obviously changed. Buyer beware.

Great scale with great data by scanning feet when you step on
I love how easy it is to use and that it provides great repeats on the app. It was super easy to set up. I like seeing my Visceral fat number. The app has a lot of tools but I prefer the simple screens it has to track my muscle mass and fat mass and weight. Only negative is you get a free trial for a subscription but it isn’t clear what you get free. I cancelled and it gives you very little without subscription. I wish it would give you more basic data and have you pay for the health advice. I don’t need all the bells and whistles. I want my trending stats as a basic option.

Next-Level Scale — Biometric Insights That Actually Mean Something
I’ve only been using the WITHINGS Body Smart Scale for a week, and I’m already building an entire training and nutrition strategy around the data it gives me.This isn’t just a weight tracker. It gives you body fat, muscle mass, water %, metabolic age, and more — and it syncs cleanly via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. What makes it next-level for me is that I’m feeding the biometric data into an AI analysis tool to create a precision fitness and diet plan. It’s like turning your bathroom scale into a lab.But let’s be honest — it’s not perfect. The first time I stepped on it, it took four tries to get a clean reading. You have to stand completely still, which isn’t as effortless as it sounds. Once you get used to it, it’s fine — but it’s worth noting for anyone with balance issues or less patience. What I Love:• Tons of biometric data — not just weight• Syncs with Apple Health and works flawlessly with apps• AI-compatible — I use the data to optimize my health stack• Tracks trends over time, not just day-to-day spikes• Looks clean and modern in any bathroomWhat Could Be Better:• Takes a few tries to calibrate on your first weigh-in• Sensitive to movement — don’t shift your feet mid-readFinal Word:If you’re serious about understanding your body, this scale is absolutely worth it. It’s more than just numbers — it’s data you can act on. Whether you’re using it like I am, or just watching trends in Apple Health, this is a solid foundation for making smarter health decisions.

The best smart scale I’ve ever tried
Without a doubt, the best smart scale on the market. For our family, Withings is synonymous with health monitoring. This scale works wonders; it maintains a profile for each family member, tracks data in its excellent app, and provides a wealth of information about our weight.

I like the product, does what it is meant to, seems to be accurate. I like how it takes multiple measurements, provides a good way of keeping track of progress via app. Setup was straight forward and I like how it has decent integration with other apps like MyFitnessPal for a holistic approach to personal health management. As a person with vision loss, there is no audio feedback from the device itself to know how long to stand on the scale for all measurements, but I wasn’t expecting this either (still would be cool to have option for at least a nice beep at start and end). I have enough vision to know that I can step off when the light on the screen goes out, but people without this level of vision might need to use a timer, and also might need to get help to consistently step on right position for accurate read and put tactile mark for independent use, which is easy enough as long as it doesn’t interfere with sensors. App is accessible enough with voiceover to make good use of, however at least one icon (I think it is meant to be for alerts/notifications) isn’t labeled. I hope the app continues to at least have a functional level of accessibility, but right now it is definitely usable for screen reader users. I like how I can use voiceover to read my weight to me on my terms.

There are thousands of BMI body fat scales here on Amazon, so choosing one can be overwhelming, and this one is more expensive than others. But I checked out the Withings company and they appear to be the first company that created scales like this which measure BMI, body fat, body water, bone mass etc so I felt more confident that their technology and software would be better and more accurate, and that they would invest in continually improving and developing their tech.I’m sure the accuracy of measurements on any of these scales is not as precise as equipment that would be used in a clinical setting, but overall the measurements are about what I expected so it does seem pretty accurate. And even assuming a margin of error, the consistency of the measurements over time is reliable and a good indicator of the changes within your body if you’re trying to lose weight, lower your body fat, or gain muscle, etc.Overall this scale has the look and feel of a quality product, from the packaging to the design and build, as well as the size of the scale (larger than some others I was looking at).The iPhone app installed fine, had a few issues at first connecting my phone to the scale but restarted my phone after installing the app and that seemed to solve the problem. Easily set up multiple users. But note the scale doesn’t work on a 5G wifi network, works fine on 2.4G wifi. The iPhone app is well designed, a clean simple layout that is visually appealing and easy to navigate. It presents the data well and syncs with Apple’s Health app seamlessly.I had never heard of Withings before, but I would buy a product from them again.

I purchased these to go alongside my ScanWatch and they work seamlessly together which makes the whole package perfect for my needs. The unit itself appears to be well manufactured and is certainly featured packed even if some of the features are not required on a set of scales !! In use these scales have proven to be very accurate when used correctly on a solid floor and not on carpet. I can happily say this as due to health issues I am currently being monitored closely by my local hospital and the results from their equipment and these scales are near on identical given the different times etc that the readings are taken . One other point that absolutely amazed me was that upon the first use and after syncing with the app the app advised me to have my bone density checked as it appeared that the reading given was low. This also confirmed to me that I made the right choice in buying these as a couple of years ago now I was diagnosed with osteoporosis for which I am long term medication to address this. This was something that I certainly did not expect from a set of scales. There was nothing difficult in setting up of the scales , in fact it was quite easy as the app does all the hard work for you. Updates were done automatically through the app which was certainly no different than updating any other item over the internet. All in all I for one am delighted with these scales, they have proved to be a good investment and well worth that little extra than the normal bathroom scales especially if you have health issues which you are attempting to address. I for one would not hesitate to recommend these as they are simply a amazing piece of kit.
