Does their job for a fair price!
I am 5’3″ and weigh 172 lbs, and I ordered the XL – XXL. I carry a little more weight in my tummy, so I needed a shapewear to pull the tummy in and shape my saggy thighs. I was very pleased with this product. It is truly high waisted and nearly goes up to my bra – which I liked. I bought this to wear over a knit dress, and these tummy control shorts did their job. Plus, this product, unlike another brand that “spanks you,” comes on and off with relative ease when it’s time to use the bathroom. (I’m 62 and can’t undergo an athletic event just to use the bathroom.) I haven’t washed them yet, so I can’t comment on that as of yet.

For gentle, comfortable shaping
I have been looking occasionally at shapewear for a number of years. I’ve seen some social media reviews on Shapermint products and finally decided to give it a try. Reasonably priced and good reviews. This tummy control garment is not meant to reshape you. If that is what you are looking for, this is not for you. But if you are looking for something to smooth out the rolls and lumps without strangling your mid-section, this is more your speed. I chose to try this under a double-knit t-shirt dress. It definitely smoothed out and compressed without strangling my midsection. I had no issue with the high waist rolling down nor the legs rolling up (which I had long ago with a similar type product.) This Shapermint product was very comfortable to wear for a work event and I really felt like I could have worn it all day, if need be. Be honest about what size you need and you will find a comfortable piece of shapewear with this brand.

If ordering the 2-pack, make sure you get both items
My wife ordered 2-packs of these in September in beige and black. I got 2 beige but 1 black. Amazon Customer Service sent the second one with no problem. She likes them, so we ordered another set of 2-packs in beige and black. Once again, we were sent 2 beige but only 1 black. The resolution didn’t go as seamlessly this time, but it has been resolved and the agent aid they escalated the issue, since the odds of the same error happening twice suggest a stockroom part number mixup or something.As for the shorts themselves, my wife wishes they were a few inches longer in the inseam and had more support for the lower abdomen, not just the waist; but of the plus-size shapewear shorts out there, these are the best she’s found. She can get them on fairly easily, and taking them down and back up when using the restroom isn’t too bad, either.

Possible Merchant Error
Lots of the reviews described the product being too big when ordering the size according to the chart. The shorts fit, but they didn’t really provide the support expected. On the advice of a few, I purchased a size xs/s instead of m/l like I normally do.When I looked at the shorts, I thought there was no way that I was going to be able to fit my skinny-squishy 165lb body in those itty-bitty things. But I did. And without much effort at all. They’re tight, but they’re not snatching my waist like they’re supposed to. Everything is smoothed out. No bulges. And I can breathe, but it didn’t shape my stomach. My stomach is still pooching out like it did before. There’s just smooth flub-blub now instead of multiple flub-blubs and no muffin top (which is nice).I sat down on the bed to see if it was possible to still breathe (it was) and I looked at the package. On the back of the package it says “Plus-size black small” and it now makes sense why I am able to wear it.I’m 5’11. 165lbs. All of my weight is in my stomach, hips, and thighs. I wear a size 10-12 in jeans.Plus-sized clothing is made specifically to accommodate a body type that is beautifully voluptuous. Plus-sized clothing is labeled “16W” or “16 curvy” fur example. The W or curvy indicating that it will fit a fuller figured individual. I know there’s not a small in plus-size, but I think I’ve figured it out nonetheless:I have a friend that wears a size 14 curvy which is another way to tell the shopper that this product is constructed differently from a size 14 regular. The curvy or the W are constructed in a way that allows a fuller figure to settle comfortably unlike the regular that would be far too tight and constricting in the waiste, knees, and calves. Anyway…I checked on Amazon and found a plus-size Shapermint, high waisted shaper shorts that can be purchased in size S-3xl. These shorts are made like the curvy or W to accommodate curves that a woman who wore a regular small would not have. I believe the seller may have accidentally shipped a plus-sized garment when the purchaser wanted a regular rather than plus. And I think that this is why some buyers are talking about sizing down while others are describing being swallowed by a boa constrictor and not being able to breathe, or move, or sit.Maybe if I had a regular small then I’d be complaining about that, too because, trust me, I may be skinny-squishy but I haven’t been able to fit into a small anything since 9th grade. And that was 32 years ago. 🤷♀️

COMFY, DOES NOT ROLL DOWN!
VERY COMFY AND DOES NOT ROLL DOWN WHEN I SIT DOWN! MAIN RESON WHY I REALLY LIKE THIS SHAPEWEAR! OTHERS WOULD ROLL DOWN AND IT ANNOYED ME! I ALSO DID SIZE UP BC I WANTED SOMETHING COMFY AND JUST TO SMOOTH OUT MY TUMMY. THE GOAL FOR ME WAS #1HELP SMOOTH TUMMY WHEN I WEAR A DRESS, #2 TO HAVE SHORTS WHEN I WEAR A DRESS SO I DONT CHAFE! THIS WAS THE MAIN GOAL FOR ME, NOT TO LOOK SKINNIER! I KNOW PPL WHO SIZE DOWN SO IT CAN BE TIGHT AS A CORSET? BUT NOT ME, I JUST WANTED SOMETHING TO MAKE ME LOOK BETTER AND HELP WITH THE CHAFING IN BETWEEN MY TIGHS.

It all fit great
The sizes are weird, and I fit right in the middle. I took a chance and bought the smaller one, and it was great. I had a hard time pulling up the back where it needed to go and was afraid after a bathroom break I wouldn’be be able to get it back where it needed to go because my dress had a fitted waist. Who wants to partially undress and take the time to get all your underwear positioned? But it was all good, and I’m happy with the purchase.
