This thing is really cool. I have very thick longhair and I can dry the roots then dry the rest with the straighten function and I barely need a little touch up with a flat iron!! Much easier and healthier for my hair.

Probably didn’t have super realistic expectations for this dryer/straightener, so was a little disappointed. I have super fine, shoulder length hair that is in a recovery stage. The dryer works great, but the button location is not good as it’s easy to hit the mode button in dryer mode and switch to the straightening setting. Also need to get used to having to flip the dryer around in straightening setting so your hair will go through the straightener and not just get blown around by the air flow. I don’t hate this dryer/straightener, but definitely don’t love it.

I was honestly impressed with this Jellyfish 2-in-1 hair dryer and straightener. It’s super lightweight, heats up quickly, and doesn’t fry my hair at all. I love that it gives a smooth, shiny finish without feeling like I’m using too much heat. The clamp-free design is also a huge plus — no more creases!It’s perfect for travel since it combines two tools in one, and the “Dreamy Blue” color looks beautiful on my vanity. Definitely worth the price — I’ve been using it almost every day since I got it.

My wife was excited to try this hair dryer because she wanted an alternative to her flat iron, which she avoids due to hair damage. While it dries her hair quickly and is portable, she finds it performs decently as a dryer but isn’t as effective as a flat iron for straightening her already thin, straight, mid-length hair. It may work better on a different hair type.

No damage, but doesn’t fully straighten my hair
First up: I had quite a learning curve with this thing. I really did not like it at all when I first got it, but I watched a couple of videos and got the hang of it a little more that way, and now I’m much more comfortable with it. A lot of it was my impatience and tendency to go too fast with running the hair through it. I didn’t give it enough time to do its thing. I also managed to block the air intake with my hair a couple of times, which makes a truly frightening sound and worried me that it was going to eat my hair. (it did not)I like that it is quickly ready for use, and that it powers down amazingly fast. There’s a little attachment (air diverter or something) that I haven’t found myself using, but don’t want to lose. Fortunately, it’s magnetic, so I have it attached to my makeup mirror for now. I *really* like that it’s a lower-heat option that doesn’t clamp my hair between two overheated plates, and I like being able to style and dry my hair at the same time…mostly. It leaves my hair fairly smooth, especially if I’ve used some product, but it doesn’t completely eliminate frizz, and it doesn’t completely straighten my hair, either. The ends tend to curl a bit, which can look a little odd with the rest of it mostly straight. My hair is fine and thin, but there’s a lot of it, and it’s also layered/texturized on the ends, so that may be a contributing factor, but it shouldn’t be.Regardless, this has not eliminated my need for a flat iron, largely because of the ends doing the little curl thing. It *has* greatly reduced the time I need to use a traditional flat iron, though, which is excellent. Much better for my hair.But. For $200 (the price at the time I ordered it), I expected much, much more. Even now that the base price has been significantly reduced, and there is currently a sale that has brought it down to $80, it’s still not living up to expectation for me.I’m giving it 4 stars because I’ve rounded up from the 3.5 I want it to have. It does work, just not as completely as advertised, at least not for me. I’m still using it, and getting okay results, but not fantastic, which I’m willing to take some responsibility for (see above re: impatience, lol), but the product itself also falls short of its claims. I should not ever have to pull out my flat iron after using this. Props for combining a hair dryer and flat-ish straightener, and for keeping heat away from my hair, but this is not quite to the level it should be.

Great for long straight-ish hair
This dryer is a unique design that can be used as both a straightener and dryer. Instead of the standard power-drill shaped hair dryer, this one inserts into the hair near the root and then gets moved down to the end. It works as well as a standard dryer and tends to result in fewer tangles and snarls as the airflow is coming from two sides of the hair. While it can fully dry the air in the same amount of time as a conventional dryer, it’s ace at quickly smoothing and 95 percent drying the hair after a workout or when you know your hair will be dry by the time you get to work.It is much lighter than a traditional dryer and it stores much more compactly in luggage or a drawer.It’s been used 3-5 times per week for the last four months and nothing seems worn, tired, or has that “dying electrical appliance” smell. It’s been dropped a few times and proven tough. It’s durable.At under $150 (Oct 2025), it’s a good value in a very deluxe hair dryer. It was also well packaged in a very chi-chi giftworthy box.
