    A great book for anyone watching their blood sugar levels
    Really pleased me with this cookbook. It’s not just a collection of recipes – it’s a whole system that helps you manage your blood sugar levels with confidence, variety, and delicious food. I was pleasantly impressed with the detailed and varied 60-day meal plan and the recipe adaptations (Green and Red editions) that offer many substitution options depending on your current blood sugar levels – something I haven’t seen in any other cookbook for diabetics before.The recipes are easy to follow, realistically portioned and packed with full nutritional information, including GI, which is rare. I really enjoyed the veggie and cheese egg muffins, baked herb-crusted chicken with roasted carrots, and the unusual flavor combination dessert – chocolate avocado mousse. The bonus chapter on desserts was also a pleasant surprise.The table of food combinations, the selection of dishes depending on blood sugar levels and the checklist were very helpful – everything I need is at my fingertips. Also, the tips on emotional well-being were amazingly motivating, and the full-color photos for each dish nicely complement the book.I recommend this book to anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels and wants to eat a delicious and varied diet.

    Great cook book!
    Diabetic Diet after 60 – very good cookbook. It provides options for low, medium and high blood sugar levels and recipes for breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. Pictures are excellent and recipes are easy to follow and provide nutritional information. I like that it begins with small changes and encourages one to keep at the diet. The end of the book has a mini quiz on how the diet is working/satisfying you. Very nice, well-written and thoughtful book.

    This is an excellent cookbook for diabetic seniors. It is easy to follow with beautiful colorful illustrations and delicious, straightforward meal plans. Some of my favorite recipes are the salmon with steamed broccoli and quinoa, buckwheat pancakes with nuts and berries, and the turkey and avocado breakfast wraps. The book also has important nutritional information, weekly grocery shopping checklists, and helpful tips on how to turn a diet into a lifestyle. I recommend this beautiful cookbook.

    Simple recipes and easy to follow
    This book has simple low-sugar meals and clearer guidance on what to eat. Everything is explained in plain English, the shopping tips are great, and the 8 week plan makes it easy to start. The recipes are super simple to follow with normal ingredients, but I thought that some of them were a bit plain unless you add some herbs and spice. Also some menus repeat, which was not great but makes planning easier. Overall it’s a useful book and easy to follow.

    Delicious looking pictures of healthy food!
    I was reading this book and I had eaten a big dinner and was still hungry, that was a mistake from my part as the recipes and images of foods presented look delicious.The first section had the facts and the science needs to understand basics, but as soon as I hit the second part of the book which had recipes, its hard too look away! Who said healthy food was not beautiful and tasty! I found some amazing recipes! The chocolate avocado mousse is probably the one I would try first.While this book is marketed for diabetics older than 60, I feel it would be a great addition to a collection for all ages!
