    This one lasts…still going strong.
So when we moved into an older house with an old furnace, this motor went out our first winter. Each subsequent winter those replacement motors went out until we found this one. (one of those motors I temporarily fixed with a fidget spinner bearing!) This one has been running strong for two winters, and we’re just heading into our third. The others were noisy. This one is really quiet. We finally found a quality motor. Thank you!

    Furnace is Working Now
The motor came very quickly, which was excellent because it was cold and the furnace was inoperable. The motor is working, and the furnace sounds better than ever. The cost was a fraction of the name brand part and it was easy to install. The old motor had short screws threaded into the motor, this motor has open holes all the way through. So if your motor has short screws threaded into the motor to bolt it on, expect to buy two long bolts and nuts about 1/8” x 3”. I used the 6 size, not metric, and 8 might fit but I am not certain about that.I appreciate other reviewers mentioning the fan needing replaced because it is difficult to remove. Amazon did not seem to have a replacement. I was able to remove and reuse mine by liberally applying thread penetrating lubricant to the set screw to help loosen it, and cutting the motor shaft off before carefully driving the shaft piece out of the fan.

    Saved me thousands
This part saved me thousands of dollars for a new unit they were trying to say i needed! I have had it in for two years and still going

Hope it gets here in good operating condition
Well, I ordered this little jewel on 3/23/18 it arrived on March 5,2018. So much for two day shipping. Anyway, finally put the motor in and it seemed to be OK except for a faint whining noise which I dismissed as nothing to to be too concerned about. Shows how sharp I am. Late the next day my renter called and said the furnace had quit working again. Checked it out and found that the motor was making a really lowed humming noise, but was not turning at all. I tried to turn the motor cooling fan counter clockwise and felt a strong force fighting my effort. Tried to turn the shaft clockwise with the same result. Two magnetic forces were at work, simultaneously trying to turn the rotor in opposite directions, but only succeeding in locking the motor down.I had already put another motor in my basket with Amazon so that I would have a spare one on hand. I had it shipped and received it in three days It has worked perfectly so far. Runs very quietly. Not even a whimper thus far. I have had a lot of dealings with shaded pole motors in the past, but have never had one pull this stunt. Must have been a misalignment of the shaded pole and the coils that determine the direction of rotation. Would have given this 5 stars but for this problem and the ssslow shipping. The second motor came in with the outer box in rough shape and the inner box was totally destroyed with no packing in sight. Probably a miracle it survived. I am ordering another spare today and returning the first motor tomorrow. Hope it gets here in good operating condition. By the by, I think everything shipping out of Houston comes on a slow boat.

  5. Skylor Wold

It matched my old motor and fixed my problem.
The price is great, and the motor has been running perfectly fine for a couple months now. Thankfully I bought this when the old inducer started squealing, because it completely seized up a week or so later, and the entire furnace stopped working during the coldest week of the year.

    Drop in replacement
Exact replacement for my failed motor. Order the fan wheel along with it. You will never get it off the old shaft. Cut the shaft to separate the two and install the new fan wheel and motor. I was fortunate to be able to use the existing gaskets

  7. Terry Smith

Removed motor screws don’t fit new motor.
Installed new inducer draft motor on Carrier WeatherMaker 8000 NG furnace. During the final motor installation the directions instructed to reuse the two removed motor mounting screws which did not fit the new motor mounting holes. I had to dig around my spare screw supply and finally found two that would work to complete installation. Overall the new motor seems to be of good quality and as of now working just fine and extremely quiet. If it wasn’t for the screw issue I would’ve rated a 5 star.

  8. Amazon Customer

    Works great and cheap
In the directions you have to remove the cage wheel off the old motors shaft in order to remove the motor from the mounting plate. If it doesn’t loosen nicely you could end up bending the wheel. Order a new cage wheel just in case. I had to end up cutting off my original cage wheel and shaft with a 6 inch cutting wheel. The set screw and wheel was rusted on like if it was welded. The plastic cover for the little black cooling fan that comes with this doesn’t fit all the way on the shaft. I just reused the original fan one from my old induction motor and was a perfect fit. Kind of a pain. If I didn’t have a new cage wheel I would have been without heat for days until replacement arrived.,

It worked great, Thanlk you. only complain is shipping costed me as much as motor.

  10. sladja

It was easy to install this motor. The holes in the casing were good fit. Order new gasket along with the new motor. Old gasket may be brittle and damaged by heat. Alternatively, you may use high temperature silicone, but it would be difficult to remove the assembly with the motor after sealing it with silicone.Install the motor to the assembly and fix the assembly to the opening in the furnace. Then install small plastic fan to avoid breaking the fan while installing the assembly. The motor has been working for a month now. It is quiet and very well balanced.

  11. Amazon Customer

My local parts supplier wanted 3x this for the exact same part. There’s no way I’m paying that for something so simple. This fixed my problems and did it for cheap. Awesome little inducer motor.

Replaced my existing (318984-753) noisy motor with this product. Yes, it fit and yes it is now working. I do have some concerns though as this motor is now running at 3500RPM, which is 200RPM more than the motor I replaced. This could add increased stress on the pressure switch, hopefully it will not damage the switch. It is also is labeled to draw 1.5A. After testing, this motor is drawing on 1.9A.The package did not come with the retainer ring, as shown in the picture. I was able to salvage the old one.You should replace the blower wheel and gaskets while doing this replacement. My wheel was fused as was the theme with many others. Ended up cutting the old motor shaft to dismantle.Like I said, its working. Time will tell on how long this motor will last as it isn’t preforming as the OEM model did. My advice, spend the extra few dollars and buy original parts for an exact match.Motor Specs (SM4753):115V60Hz1PH1.5A3500RPM

Don’t buy this one, buy the whole assembly. If you see the return fee is so high, there is some reason behind it.
